Pupil Premium

Herstmonceux CE Primary School is committed to ensuring that all pupils are able to reach their full potential. Pupil Premium funding is allocated to raise achievement for children in Years R to 6 that are known to be eligible for free school meals or have been eligible in the past 6 years. This group is referred to as the FSMever6 group.

In East Sussex, Pupil Premium for children who are looked after by the local authority is managed by the Virtual School for Children in Care. A premium is also paid for children whose parents are currently in the Armed Forces.

Currently 17% of pupils are in receipt of the pupil premium grant.

In January 2015 the school received a letter from David Laws, MP, congratulating the school on being "highly effective in educating disadvantaged pupils" and on the "leadership in making such a difference to the future success of your pupils."

In February 2016 Sam Gyimah MP sent us a letter of congratulations because "you are one of the highest achieving schools in the country in terms of the attainment and progress of your disadvantaged pupils since 2011..... I would like to congratulate your governors, parents and pupils for their hard work and success, and thank you for your leadership in making such a difference to the future success of your pupils."

We will continue to strive to build on this and we acknowledge the contribution of all pupils, staff, governors and parents in supporting us in this.
