23 November 2023:
Today we celebrate 1 whole year of Bonnie being our School Dog! Bonnie is so loved by all our pupils and staff and she brings so much joy
Bonnie turned 2 on 7 May. She has become very well established in school with pupils and staff over the last 6 months and has made such a hugely positive impact.
We are thrilled to welcome a new member of staff to our school: Bonnie the School Dog!
Bonnie is an 18 month old Imperial Shihtzu, owned by Miss Prodger who works in our finance office. Bonnie has undertaken her Canine Assessment and passed with flying colours. Bonnie will do some light intervention work around the school including emotional support and will always be accompanied by a staff member.
We will share ‘Pupdates’ via Newsflash and Facebook so be sure to give us a ‘like’!
The Dogs' Trust Visit
On Thursday 1 December 2022, we had a very special visit from Steph at The Dogs' Trust to teach the children about Safe Behaviour Around Dogs.
Steph delivered a fantastic assembly to the whole school and then delivered 1 hour workshops to each key stage 2 class throughout the day. The children had a great time and immediately put their new found skills to good use with the school dog, Bonnie.
Since 2003, the Dogs Trust Education Team have been delivering educational programmes to young people and children all across the UK. For more information about this, you can watch a video from the Dogs Trust by clicking here: https://youtu.be/
