Progress since our last OFSTED inspection

1. Pupils in KS1 experience daily opportunities to develop their speaking and listening skills.

2. Opportunities for cross-curricular writing are now routinely planned in all year groups. We have an 'excellence in writing' board in the foyer that showcases some of our best work. In our most recent writing moderation visit from the local authority on 9th June 2015, the moderator commented in his report that he reviewed "an impressive range and quality of evidence from across the curriculum" and that cross curricular writing "was a strength, with an impressive range of writing opportunities across subjects and topics." Please take a look at some examples below.

3. and 4. Probing and challenging questions, investigative tasks and high quality teaching in all subjects are embedded into our planning, lessons and continuous provision across all year groups in the school. In our most recent SIAMS inspection in 2015 the inspector reported that "Questioning is used effectively within lessons to prompt pupils to think below the surface of religion and belief. As a result, pupils are able to forge links between their study of religion and belief and the relevance to their own lives."
